The Face Taping Grimoire

Refine Your Resting Wytch Face
Compared to other natural facial rejuvenation techniques, Face Taping is relatively low maintenance. Once you learn the techniques, the tape can work its wonders while you sleep, requiring minimal effort on your part!
Kinesiology tape has been used for over 50 years in the sports industry to support muscles and aid recovery. Whilst it has been a well-known concept in sports, its introduction to the beauty industry is relatively recent and still unfamiliar in the UK.
The idea of applying kinesiology tape to the face and neck may seem unconventional, but it can be beneficial due to the presence of over 59 muscles in this area that can be positively influenced. Repetitive muscle movements in the face can lead to tension build-up, causing fine lines and wrinkles to appear. Face Taping offers a solution by providing the facial muscles with a break, allowing the skin to smooth out.
Moreover, accumulated tension in the muscles can result in puffiness as lymphatic fluid flow is impeded, leading to fluid retention in the tissues. The lymphatic application techniques taught in the masterclasses of this course are effective in reshaping the contours of the face, neck, and décolleté, as well as in improving the skin's quality. Incorporating Face Taping into your skincare routine can stand alone as an effective method or be combined with other natural facial rejuvenation techniques such as Face Yoga, Gua Sha, and Facial Cupping to enhance results.
Face Taping is fun! It requires a bit of patience and a pair of sharp scissors. The lymphatic drainage applications are very effective too. I tried an application for depuffing the eyes and the results were really noticable

The potential of natural methods may astonish you
The beauty industry is shifting towards more natural and subtle approaches to ageing gracefully, moving away from invasive surgical or injectable methods. Many women are now seeking effective alternatives to maintain a youthful appearance whilst still looking like themselves.
Even small enhancements such as appearing less tired
or needing less makeup, can significantly boost confidence. People may notice a difference in your appearance without being able to pinpoint exactly what has changed, giving a sense of rejuvenation and mystery!
Natural skin rejuvenation methods can yield remarkable results, I have seen first hand the potential of non-invasive methods when practiced regularly. Skincare plays a crucial role in maintaining healthy and supple skin, but the underlying mechanisms beneath the surface are equally important.
By relaxing and lengthening facial muscles, it is possible to reshape the contours of the face. Additionally, reducing excess fluid can highlight and define the natural bone structure, as water weight can impact facial contours significantly. The importance of addressing both internal and external factors for skin health and facial structure cannot be overstated for an all round approach to ageing well.

It is never too late to start incorporating Face Taping techniques into your skincare routine! These techniques can enhance lymphatic circulation, resulting in healthier and more radiant skin, regardless of age. The specialised methods you will learn in this course can redefine the contours of your face, neck, and décolleté, giving you a more youthful appearance. By optimising lymphatic fluid flow, you will also notice improvements in the health of your skin. For those looking to achieve the best results in addressing ageing skin concerns, we suggest combining Face Taping with The Skin Wytch Face Yoga Course. This combination will help condition the muscles which is essential for lifting and firming the skin. Since the skin of the face and neck is closely connected to muscles, strengthening them can lead to a natural uplift of the skin. Additionally, for individuals with delicate, older skin, extra caution should be taken when removing the tapes, especially around the eye, neck and décolleté areas, as the skin in these areas is more sensitive.
Utilising preventative methods is more effective than treating issues after they arise, particularly when it comes to maintaining muscle health and providing support. One such method is the regular use of kinesiology tape. Our everyday stressors can lead to muscle tightness, which may impede lymphatic fluid flow and lead to symptoms like dull skin or puffiness. Through consistent taping as part of your skincare routine, you can enhance the contours of your face, neck, and décolleté, as well as achieve a radiant complexion by boosting lymphatic circulation. It is crucial to understand that muscle function can be influenced; by practicing Face Taping, individuals can develop an awareness of their facial posture. This practice aids in wrinkle prevention by managing overly active muscles and adjusting the position of other muscles that could benefit from a lifting effect, thereby preserving a youthful facial appearance.
For some people, using kinisiology tape overnight can be convenient as well as beneficial. The muscular techniques help to relax facial muscles that may be active during sleep, promoting smoother skin in the morning. However, it's important to note that many of lymphatic applications are intended for short-term wear and may not be suitable for overnight use. Before trying Face Taping for the first time, it is crucial to do a patch test to check for any allergic reactions to the adhesive.
It is recommended to apply the tape for 3 consecutive days (or nights) followed by 1 day off, or for 5 consecutive days followed by 2 days off. Once the desired outcome is achieved, the tape can be applied 2 or 3 times a week to maintain the result.
The immediate effects of Face Taping become evident as soon as the tapes are removed, which contributes to its popularity. However, achieving long-term benefits may necessitate retraining the muscles permanently, with individual outcomes varying based on factors such as age, diet, hydration, sleep, sun exposure, and stress levels. To optimise results, incorporating other natural facial rejuvenation techniques like Face Yoga, Gua Sha and Facial Cupping is recommended. For a holistic approach to accelerating results, consider exploring additional masterclasses and courses provided by The Skin Wytch. Joining the membership for regular face workout routines can help maintain motivation and achieve a radiant glow in the long run.
Yes, it is possible to utilise multiple applications within one session, provided that they complement each other. It is important to avoid overlapping a muscular application with a lymphatic neck application, as they serve distinct purposes. For example, you could combine a tension-releasing technique on the cheek area with a lymphatic application on the neck, ensuring they do not conflict with each other.
When it comes to Botox, it is crucial to wait for a minimum of 2-4 weeks for it to settle before engaging in Face Taping techniques over the treated area. The therapeutic benefits of kinesiology tape involve 'massaging' the tissue beneath the skin to promote movement, which should be avoided immediately after receiving injectables. For facial fillers, it is recommended to wait at least 4-6 weeks before applying tape over the treated area to prevent migration. Prior to starting a regular Face Taping routine, especially after undergoing recent non-surgical or surgical procedures, it is best to seek advice from your practitioner or consultant.
Avoid applying tape to irritated or impaired areas of the skin, which includes active acne, rosacea flare-ups, eczema, psoriasis, perioral dermatitis, or sunburn. Wait until the skin has healed before taping. Exercise caution if using medication that could thin or sensitise the skin to prevent damage or irritation.

True facial rejuvenation happens when you pay attention to what’s going on under the surface of the skin - no flow, no glow.
